NextStage allows you to edit Opportunity details, archive Opportunities that are no longer active, or permanently delete Opportunities when necessary. These actions help maintain an accurate and organized pipeline while preserving historical capture data.
Editing an Opportunity
To edit an Opportunity:
Navigate to your Pipeline
Click on the Opportunity card you want to edit
Click the Manage button in the upper right corner
This will open the Manage Opportunity window, where you can update key information such as:
Opportunity Name
Pipeline assignment
Tags
Bid decision (Bid / No Bid / Undecided)
Outcome (Won / Lost / Unknown)
Click Save after making your changes.
Recording Bid Decisions and Outcomes
Within the Manage Opportunity window, you can record both the Bid Decision and the Outcome.
Bid Decision options include:
Bid
No Bid
Undecided
Outcome options include:
Won
Lost
Unknown
These fields help track capture performance and pipeline progress.
Important: The Outcome field is used to calculate win rates and reporting metrics within NextStage.
Maintaining accurate outcomes ensures reliable reporting and performance analysis.
Archiving an Opportunity
If an Opportunity is no longer active but you want to retain its data, it is recommended to archive the Opportunity instead of deleting it.
To archive an Opportunity:
Open the Opportunity
Click the Manage button
Click Archive
Archiving preserves all associated information, including:
Notes
Documents
Team assignments
Scores
Capture history
Archived Opportunities can still be accessed and reviewed later.
To view archived Opportunities:
Navigate to your Pipeline
Enable the Show archived checkbox
Archived Opportunities will then appear in your Pipeline view.
Deleting an Opportunity (Admin Only)
Administrators have the ability to permanently delete Opportunities.
To delete an Opportunity:
Open the Opportunity
Click the Manage button
Click Delete
Confirm the deletion
Warning: Deleting an Opportunity permanently removes all associated data, including:
Notes
Documents
Scores
Team assignments
Capture history
This action cannot be undone.
For this reason, archiving is recommended instead of deleting whenever possible.
Best Practices
Use these actions appropriately to maintain a clean and accurate pipeline:
Edit Opportunities to keep information current
Archive Opportunities to preserve historical capture data
Delete Opportunities only when they were created in error or are no longer needed
Maintaining accurate Opportunity records ensures reliable reporting, pipeline visibility, and capture performance tracking.β
