Managing Opportunity Custom Fields

How to add, edit, or delete Opportunity custom fields for your Pipeline

Managing Custom Fields:

  • To manage your custom fields - you will start by clicking Edit summary template on the top right of the Summary screen.

  • Next you will click the Edit button on the Custom Fields section.

  • Click Add Field

  • When you're adding a new Custom Field you will type in the field name & click Click here to create (field name) as a new field.

  • Once you have created the new Custom Field you will need to select what type of field this will be. You will be required to choose from the options below:

  • You can also remove and edit your custom fields as well by hitting the Remove button, or the Edit options button.

  • When you're in edit mode you can also move your Sections around by clicking on the dots to the left of the section name.

  • Once you are finished making edits to your Sections you will have to click Exit edit mode.

(Legacy Summary View) Adding Custom Fields

To add a custom field, click on an Opportunity and go to the Summary tab. Click the “Add Custom Field” button at the bottom of the Details column.

Custom fields have a variety of types, which determine what kind of values can be stored.

Edit or Delete Custom Fields

To edit or delete a custom field, click on the field name in the Details column of the Summary tab. Here, you change the field’s name and type. You can save these changes to all Opportunities in your pipeline by checking the “Save changes to all opportunities” checkbox.
