Overview
Opportunity tags allow you to color-code and categorize opportunities in your pipeline. Tags help your team quickly identify priority, risk level, capability area, or other important attributes.
This article explains how to create pipeline tags and apply them to opportunities.
Prerequisite
You must have Admin permissions to create or manage pipeline tags.
Tags are managed at the pipeline level, and each pipeline has its own tag set.
Create or Manage Pipeline Tags
Step 1: Open Pipeline Settings
Click pipeline in the left navigation menu.
Then click Manage Pipelines in the top right corner.
Select the pipeline you want to edit, and click Manage.
Step 2: Add or Remove Tags
In the Edit Pipeline window, locate the Opportunity Tags section.
From here, you can:
View existing tags
Remove tags by clicking the X next to the tag name
Add new tags by clicking + Add Tag
Assign colors to visually distinguish tags
Click Save when finished.
Important Notes
Tags are specific to each pipeline.
If you use multiple pipelines, you must create tags separately for each one.
Only Admin users can create or manage tags.
Apply Tags to an Opportunity
Step 1: Open the Opportunity Settings
Navigate to Pipelines or Opportunities and open the opportunity you want to update.
Click Manage to open the opportunity settings.
Step 2: Assign Tags
Locate the Tags field.
Select one or more tags to apply to the opportunity.
Click Save when finished.
The tags will now appear as colored labels on the opportunity card in the pipeline view.
