Enabling GovWin Integration

Connect your GovWin subscription to NextStage

The GovWin integration allows NextStage to connect directly to your GovWin IQ subscription, enabling you to search, import, and synchronize opportunity data.

This integration helps teams accelerate pipeline development and ensure opportunity data is accurate and standardized.

What the GovWin Integration Enables

Once connected, you can:

  • Search for GovWin opportunities directly within NextStage

  • Associate GovWin opportunities with your NextStage pipeline

  • Automatically sync opportunity data from GovWin

  • Standardize agencies, customers, and entities using GovWin taxonomy

  • Improve capture efficiency and data accuracy

This eliminates manual entry and ensures pipeline data stays current.

Requirements

Before enabling the integration, you must have:

  • An active GovWin IQ subscription

  • GovWin Web Services API access enabled

  • GovWin Web Services credentials

  • Admin access in NextStage

Important:


GovWin Web Services API access is an add-on and may require an additional subscription fee.

Contact your GovWin account manager to enable:

GovWin Web Services API for 3rd-party CRM integrations

Step 1: Log in to GovWin

Log in to your GovWin IQ account.

Click your profile icon in the top right.

Select:

Integrations → Web Services Administration

Step 2: Open Web Services Administration

This page allows you to manage API credentials.

Click the: Enable New Application button

Step 3: Create API Credentials

In the Enable New Application dialog:

Enter the following:

Application Name: Enter a descriptive name such as "NextStage Integration"

Application Type:
Select:
GovWin IQ Webservices API

Click:

Generate Client ID & Secret

Step 4: Save Your Client Credentials

Once generated, you will receive:

  • Client ID

  • Client Secret

Save these credentials in a secure location.

You will need them to complete setup in NextStage.

Step 5: Enter Credentials in NextStage

In NextStage:

  1. Navigate to Admin Settings

  2. Locate the GovWin Integration section

  3. Enter:

    1. GovWin Username

    2. GovWin Password

    3. Client ID

    4. Client Secret

Click Save

NextStage will validate the connection.

Best Practice: Use a Dedicated GovWin Web Services Account

GovWin typically provides a dedicated "webservices" account for integrations.

This ensures:

  • Stable integration access

  • No disruption when individual user passwords change

  • Proper API permissions

Use this account when configuring NextStage.

Troubleshooting

Problem: Incorrect Username or Password

GovWin requires periodic password resets.

Fix:

  1. Log in to govwin.com

  2. Reset your password

  3. Update the password in NextStage

Problem: Incorrect API Application Type

The application must be created using:

GovWin IQ Webservices API

Fix:

Repeat Step 3 and generate new credentials.

Update Client ID and Secret in NextStage.

Problem: Unable to Search GovWin Opportunities

This usually means your GovWin account does not have search permissions enabled.

Fix:

  1. Log in to GovWin using the same account

  2. Attempt to search for opportunities

  3. If search is unavailable, contact GovWin support to enable access

How the Integration Works

Once enabled, NextStage connects securely to GovWin via API.

This allows NextStage to:

  • Search GovWin opportunities

  • Import opportunity records

  • Sync GovWin opportunity data

  • Maintain standardized government entity data

This ensures your pipeline remains accurate and aligned with GovWin intelligence.
