Zapier Integration

Automate workflows by connecting NextStage to Zapier.

The NextStage Zapier integration allows you to trigger automated workflows whenever opportunities are created, updated, or deleted in your NextStage workspace. This enables seamless integration with tools like Slack, Microsoft Teams, HubSpot, Salesforce, email notifications, spreadsheets, and more.


What You Can Automate

Using Zapier with NextStage, you can automatically:

  • Send Slack or Teams alerts when new opportunities are created

  • Update CRM systems when opportunity data changes

  • Create tasks or notifications for capture teams

  • Log opportunity activity in spreadsheets or reporting tools

  • Trigger downstream workflows across your business systems

This ensures your team stays informed and reduces manual data entry.


Supported Trigger Events

NextStage currently supports the following Zapier trigger events:

Event

Description

Opportunity Created

Triggers when a new opportunity is added to a pipeline

Opportunity Updated

Triggers when an existing opportunity is modified

Opportunity Deleted

Triggers when an opportunity is deleted

These triggers fire instantly when changes occur.


Step 1: Generate a NextStage API Token

Before connecting Zapier, you must generate an API token in NextStage.

  1. Log in to NextStage

  2. Navigate to Admin

  3. Locate the Zapier Settings section

  4. Click Generate Token (if one does not already exist)

  5. Copy and securely save your API token

Important:
You will use this token to authenticate Zapier.


Step 2: Connect NextStage to Zapier

  1. Log in to your Zapier account

  2. Click Create Zap

  3. In the Trigger step, search for and select NextStage

  4. Select your desired trigger event:

    • Opportunity Created

    • Opportunity Updated

    • Opportunity Deleted

  5. Click Continue


Step 3: Authenticate Your NextStage Account

  1. Click Connect an Account

  2. Paste your NextStage API Token into the API Token field

  3. Click Yes, Continue

  4. Zapier will test the connection

  5. Once successful, click Continue

Your NextStage account is now connected.


Step 4: Configure and Activate Your Zap

After connecting NextStage, you can:

  • Add actions such as sending notifications, updating systems, or creating tasks

  • Configure filters or conditions

  • Test your Zap

  • Click Publish Zap to activate automation

Your workflows will now run automatically based on NextStage events.


Example Use Cases

Common automations include:

  • Notify Slack when a new opportunity enters the pipeline

  • Create a task in your CRM when an opportunity moves stages

  • Send email alerts to leadership for high-value opportunities

  • Sync opportunity data to reporting tools

This helps improve pipeline visibility and operational efficiency.


Troubleshooting

If Zapier cannot connect:

  • Verify your API token is correct

  • Ensure your NextStage account has Admin permissions

  • Generate a new API token if needed

  • Confirm you selected the correct trigger event
