These occur when a system or backend processing issue prevents a file from being submitted successfully, even though the uploaded data is valid.

Customer upload fix: Columns do not match template

Error message - We're sorry but we were unable to upload your file. The number of columns imported does not match the number of columns in the template.

This happens when your file has a different number of columns than the template expects, usually caused by adding, removing or rearranging columns, or using an outdated version of the template.

Following the steps below will resolve the issue and allow your file to import successfully.

  1. Download a new copy of the template.

  2. Copy your data into the new template.

📌Note: Do not add, remove or rearrange any columns. The column count in your file must match the template exactly, otherwise the upload will fail. Always use a freshly downloaded copy of the template. Reusing a saved version can also cause this error if the column structure has changed since you last downloaded it.

  3. Check your number fields and remove any currency symbols, such as £.

  4. Save and re-upload the file.

If the error persists, please reach out to our support team and request to speak to an agent.
