The data service originally covered the 31 Primary Markets and expanded coverage in 2008 to an additional 68 metropolitan markets. (Exclusive of the Primary Markets, these 68 markets are referred to as Secondary Markets.) In July 2016, the data service further expanded its market coverage by adding another 41 markets. These markets are referred to as the Additional Markets. Data is available beginning in the 4Q2005 for the Primary Markets, 1Q2008 for the Secondary Markets, and 2Q2015 for the Additional Markets.

To see the full 140 markets NIC MAP covers and which market is considered Primary, Secondary, or Additional, select the Support tab from the left hand navigation pane. Then, select Metro Coverage Map. This shows each market as well as the counties that comprise that market.

You can also search in the Metropolitan Market Locator search bar to see if a location is covered by NIC MAP.
