Nimble offers a variety of ways to upload your Microsoft 365 contacts and their associated contact details to your account. Whether you have a Microsoft 365 subscription or want to upload from an Outlook CSV file, this support article's got you covered.

Microsoft 365 Importer

Nimble enables Microsoft 365 subscribers to import contacts from their account via the Microsoft 365 connector. It's important to remember that all contacts in your Outlook account from the "Your contacts" list will be added to Nimble.

If you would rather control which contacts are added to Nimble, you may consider using the Outlook CSV importer instead. Instructions on how to use this importer can be found in the next section below.

In Settings >> Networks & Imports, choose "Connect Microsoft 365"

A pop-up window will display prompting you to sign into an existing Microsoft 365 account. Choose which account you would like to sign into or click "Use another account."

For contact syncing, you will have the following options:

  • Choose a contact owner

  • Choose whether the contacts should be private or public

  • Select a group of contacts to import

  • Select a tag name that will apply to the contacts

You'll also get the option to sync contacts just this one time or choose to sync them on a weekly basis.

After this page, you will have the option to sync your calendar. If you would like to only sync your contacts, then ensure no calendar is selected and click "Finish".

If you prefer that your messages do not sync to Nimble, then once you are back on the Networks & Imports page, you can click the 3 dots next to Email to disconnect the account. Contacts will remain synced.

That's it! The account should now be connected and you'll be able to see your contacts in the Contacts tab. If you have connected your emails, then you will see your emails in the Message tab as well as on the contact record and you'll be able to send single and group messages.

Outlook CSV Importer

You may consider using the Outlook CSV importer if you have a controlled list of contacts that you would like to upload to Nimble. Controlling which contacts import to Nimble will ensure that you start your Nimble experience with a clean database of contacts.

If you haven't exported your Outlook contacts to a CSV file yet, you may use this article to do so: Export Contacts From Outlook

Once your contacts have been exported, you may consider looking it over to remove any unwanted contacts from the file before import.

To start the import process, visit Settings >> Networks & Imports and search "Outlook CSV".

Click "Import CSV File" then upload or drag your CSV file onto the Import Wizard.

Select "Next", and utilize the CSV Import Wizard to map the headers from your CSV file to fields that exist in Nimble.

On the third page of the import process, you are provided with overwrite options. If you run this import periodically, it is important to be mindful of your merging options to avoid duplicates.

Tip Alert: Nimble merges duplicates based on email address. If some of the contacts in your file do not have an email address, then you may choose to merge based on name when an email address is not present.

After selecting your overwrite options, be sure to apply a tag to your import, so you can easily locate your contacts later. You can also choose the privacy settings and owner of the contacts.

Then click "Finish" to import your contacts.
