Overview video

Super Admin & District Admin have the ability to add a school preferences question to pooled job postings. This means candidates will be able to select which schools they are interested in for that particular job. Admin users can then filter by the candidates’ preferred schools on the candidate list.

Adding school preferences question

In order to add the school preferences question to a job posting, navigate to the internal jobs page. You can create a new job or edit and existing one.

Scroll to the question section and select School Preferences.

By default, any of the school locations that were added to the role will automatically be selected when "automatic list" is enabled. With an automatic list, the list of schools candidates can select will automatically be updated to reflect the schools that have unfilled vacancies for that job at the time the candidate applies.

Users can override this default by turning off the "automatic list" toggle to select schools manually. All of the schools selected will be visible as options to candidates when they are applying to this job. Just like the other question types, admin can mark the school preferences question as required or optional on the job posting.

On the application, candidates can check all of the schools they are interested in and express interest in other future locations that may not be listed yet.

Filtering by preferences

The HR team and hiring managers can filter by school preferences on the candidate list. To do so, navigate to the candidate list and scroll down the filter list on the left hand side of the page. At the bottom of the Candidate Preferences section, there will be a filter called Schools. You can filter by specific schools or the candidates who are open to other school locations not listed on the application.

When a candidate has selected the top checkbox (expressing that they are open to all opportunities) they will show up regardless of which schools the filter is enabled for. In other words, checking the top checkbox is the same as checking the checkbox for every school within the district. When a candidate has selected the bottom checkbox indicating that they may be open to other opportunities that become available, they will be returned in the top filter item, "open to other options."
