Overview
Social media is a powerful tool that can generate higher visibility for your open positions and help you quickly source pools of skilled talent.
Nimble’s new social media integration feature allows users to share open job postings with their networks through Twitter, LinkedIn, and Facebook. In this tutorial, we’ll provide you with a step-by-step guide to sharing open job postings to your social media for an effortless, seamless recruitment experience.
Sharing from the jobs list
There are two ways to share open job postings to your social media networks via Nimble. Let’s start by sharing a job posting directly from the internal jobs page.
First, click Jobs in the header to be directed to your internal jobs page. When you hover over active open jobs, you will see a "Share" icon on the far right.
Click the “Share” icon to open the “Share Job” modal.
At the top, you’ll see a dropdown with the job title of the selected posting. If you want to change the job you're sharing, click the dropdown arrow and select any other active, open job posting shown in the list (or start typing to narrow down the list).
Nimble currently allows you to share open jobs to LinkedIn, Twitter, and Facebook. Before you can share a job with your network, you’ll need to grant Nimble access to post on your behalf.
To do this, click one of the social media icons. A new window will pop up asking you to grant Nimble permissions access to connect with your social media account. Once you finish authenticating your social media account, you'll be directed back to the “Share job” window in Nimble.
Notice that you can distinguish authenticated accounts from non-authenticated accounts by the icon colors. Grey icons indicate that you have not yet authenticated an account for that social media channel, while full-color icons indicate that the authentication process has been completed. You will only need to complete the authentication process once for each social media account you connect to.
If you ever want to switch the social media account Nimble can post to, you can open that social media app in your browser, and log out of one account and into another, then re-authenticate with Nimble. You can also hover over the icon to see which user Nimble will be posting on behalf of.
Once you’ve completed the authentication process, select all social media channels where you'd like to share the posting and edit the post text as needed. Note that the character limit accounts for the job URL, which is automatically added at the end of each post.
You also have the ability to replace or remove the default image attached to your post, as shown above.
Once you’re done with your edits, select “Continue.” This is the last step before you share your job post to your network! The next window will list which social media channels you’ve selected. After you’ve checked that all the details are correct, select “Share job” to finish posting your open jobs to your social media.
Note that for Facebook you will be prompted to approve the post through the Facebook app directly before posting, while Linkedin and Twitter will be posted immediately once you click “Share job.” Thus, if you select Facebook only, you will not receive the confirmation modal, but will be taken to Facebook directly.
Once your job has been shared, you can visit the applicable social media accounts to view or edit the existing posting.
Sharing from the job preview page
You can also share an active, open job directly from the job preview page. Simply click the share icon to open the modal shown in the previous section. From there, you can follow the same process described above to share your selected job to your social media.
Finally, when you post a new active, open job for the first time, you will be prompted to share that job on social media. Users can either continue follow the prompt to share the job or click "No, thanks" to navigate back to the jobs page.
Access & Attribution
Through Nimble's social media integration, users will have access to share all jobs they have access to on their internal jobs pages (for Super and District Admins that means all jobs, and for School Admins and District Users, that means jobs that are tagged to their schools or departments).
When a candidate uses a social media share link to apply for a job, Nimble automatically assigns that social media platform as the source for that candidate, so you can track the impact of social shares for your organization. We also track the user who shared the post, which will prove useful later when we launch our referrals module, so that you can attribute new applicants to specific teammates' social media referrals.
