Why have I been charged a preauthorisation on my card?

Updated over 2 months ago

To keep charging safe and seamless, a temporary “preauthorisation” has been included in some charging sessions to help prevent fraud & reduce billing errors for the entire EV community.

Public charging should be accessible for all, and that’s why, once a sustained payment history has been built up, your account will have preauthorisation removed.

Until that time, the preauthorisation amount will be returned to your account within 24 hours of any attempted charging session; it depends on your bank how quickly this will appear in your statement.

Fast, secure, and transparent - just how public charging should be. If you have any questions about preauthorisation, head to the chat function within the app - we’d love to hear from you!
