Help for downloading nkoda on your Mac

If the nkoda app on your Mac is not installing correctly, or bouncing in your dock but not opening, there are a few steps you can take to successfully install nkoda.

1. Delete nkoda completely from your Mac

Check both your 'Downloads' and 'Application' folders to delete the app from your Mac completely, as well as any related files.

2. Clear your cache

  • Open the 'Terminal' application, using Spotlight Search or your Launchpad to find it.

  • Copy and paste the following command into Terminal:

rm -r ~/Library/Containers/com.nkoda.macapp/Data

  • When you paste this command it will appear as the last line of text in a paragraph. Press “Enter”/“Return” on the keyboard to execute the command line.

  • Then copy and paste a final command into Terminal:

defaults delete com.nkoda.macapp

  • Press 'Enter' once more

3. Then clear your keychain

  • Open your 'Launchpad'

  • Search for 'Keychain Access' and open it

  • Once opened, search for 'nkoda' and delete all related items

4. Download the correct app for your specific MacOS

Open https://www.nkoda.com/download/mac, and select the correct download option for your MacOS.

There are two options to download:

  1. The main 'Download' button that is for the most recent MacOS (Ventura, Monterey, Big Sur)

  2. The link below named 'Download for MacOS Catalina, Mojave and High Sierra' is for these specific older MacOS versions

Please be sure to choose the download option that is relevant for your current MacOS.

If you still have trouble installing the app for Mac after following all of these steps, please get in contact with our support team at support@nkoda.com.
