How do I edit nodes and edges?

Learn how to customize your graph by editing node labels, types, colors, and connections between nodes.

After generating your graph, you can customize it by editing nodes and edges directly in the interface.

Adding new nodes

1. Click the "Add Node" button in the Control Panel

2. Enter the node label

3. Select the node type

4. Select an optional Parent Compartment

5. Press the "Create" button

Editing nodes

Change a node label

1. Double-Click on any node to select it

2. Type a new label to rename the node

3. Press Enter or click outside to save

Change node type or style

1. Double-Click on the node to open it's properties

2. Find the node type dropdown or style options

3. Choose a different type (e.g., process, decision, data, etc.)

4. The node color and shape may change automatically

Move nodes

Click and drag any node to reposition it

• The edges will follow automatically

• Arrange nodes to make your graph clearer

Adding new edges (connections)

1. Click on the "Add Edge" option in the Control Panel

2. Select the source node (where the connection starts)

3. Select the target node (where the connection goes)

4. The new edge appears between the nodes

Editing edges

1. Double-Click on the edge to open it's properties

2. Select the Source Node

3. Select the Target Node

4. Select the Edge Type

5. Click 'Update'

Deleting Nodes and Edges

  1. Double-Click on it to open it's properties

  2. Press the Delete button

Saving Your Work

Changes are saved automatically. If you want to keep a version:

1. Export your graph as JSON or PNG file

2. This creates a backup with all your edits

3. You can re-import a JSON file later if needed

Tips for effective editing

Keep it simple: Don't over-complicate your graph

Use consistent colors: Same color for similar node types

Arrange logically: Flow from left to right or top to bottom

Label clearly: Use concise, descriptive labels

Test connections: Make sure edges show the right relationships
