You can manage your eSIMs and check things like your data usage, how much data you have left, and how long before your plan expires, on the Manage page on the Nomad app or on the Nomad website. You will need to be logged in to the account that you used to purchase the eSIM.
Understanding data consumption is key to managing your eSIM effectively. Activities such as watching videos in high definition, using GPS navigation over extended periods, and app updates can contribute significantly to rapid data usage. Nomad eSIM plans are either limited by their validity period or the allocated data being fully consumed.
Checking your data usage on the Nomad iOS or Android App:
Open the Nomad App
Go to the Manage page
Choose the data plan you want to check. This page offers details such as remaining data, data used, and the plan's expiration date.
Once you select the plan, you can view current usage, remaining data balance, and the plan's expiry date. If access to the app or website is unavailable, use device settings to view real-time data updates.
Nomad will send email and push notifications when you reach 60% and 80% of your plan's data usage, helping users monitor consumption effectively. For more real-time updates, refer to the app or website.
Checking your data usage on the Nomad Website:
Your device may report data usage that differs from Nomad's data tracking, as device counters often round data or synchronize readings differently. For the most accurate data consumption information, refer directly to the Nomad app. Additionally, there may be delays in data usage updates on the app. If the usage details don’t immediately reflect changes, wait a few minutes and check again.
Log in to your account using the "Log In" button at the top right
Go to the Manage page
Choose the data plan you want to check. This page provides insights into data used, remaining balance, and expiration details.
If you are not logged in, please visit https://www.getnomad.app/manage and enter the email address from where the purchase was made followed by the eSIM's ICCID to check usage. For guest account purchases, use the email associated with the purchase to check the remaining data. Additionally, if login details are unavailable, enter the eSIM's ICCID along with the email to bypass login requirements.
If you have further questions, please contact customer support via website chat or the in-app chat on the iOS or Android app. Before contacting support, consider whether background app activities, automatic updates, or large file downloads have occurred recently. Restarting your device with the eSIM set as the primary data SIM can also resolve tracking inaccuracies. If login issues persist, contact the Nomad support team for assistance or refer to your device’s mobile data settings for real-time updates.
Preventive Measures
Track data usage regularly via the Nomad app.
Turn off auto-play features, auto-updates, auto-backups and disable background refresh for apps.
