Whether it’s getting ready for school, winding down for bedtime, or gearing up for a dentist visit, visual schedules make life easier (and way more fun) for both kids and adults! Here’s why they’re a game-changer:

Simplify Tasks: Break down activities into manageable steps.
📅 Boost Confidence: Help kids feel secure and prepared with clear routines.
🌟 Tackle Transitions: Smoothly navigate new experiences and changes.

Step 1: Choose your Task

🕵️ Find your perfect starting point!

  • Have a specific goal? Type it in the search bar to get started.

  • Looking for a read-made option? Pick from our customizable task templates.

  • Need inspiration? Explore our pre-made decks for popular ideas and inspiration!

Step 2: Customize your Cards

🎨 Tailor and customize every detail!

  • Pick a Card Style: Pick from rules, sequential steps, or recurring schedules.

  • Set Reading Level: Match the text to your child’s reading ability.

  • Decide on the # of Cards: Highlight one task or step per card.

  • Add a Child Profile: Use an existing child profile or create one from scratch.

  • Add Details: Tailor your cards to make them unique to your learner.

Step 3: Edit & Review your Cards

✏️ Fine-tune your cards like a pro!

  • Edit Captions: Click the pencil icon to tweak or personalize text.

  • Save Changes: Click the checkmark button once you’re happy with your edits.

The Nookly Visual Schedules editor screen displays a “Visual Schedules” header with a subheading explaining that you can generate routines to help children follow daily tasks. Below, each step appears as a rounded-corner draggable card—shown here are “Put on your clothes,” “Brush your teeth,” and “Comb your hair.” Between cards you’ll find a “+” button to insert new steps. Hovering over a card in edit mode reveals a pencil icon on the right (for editing the caption) and a trash icon (for deleting the step); when you click the pencil, checkmark and “X” icons appear to confirm or cancel your changes. A scrollbar on the right indicates you can scroll through additional steps. This interface lets you fine-tune your schedule cards like a pro—just click the pencil icon to tweak or personalize any caption.

Pro Tip: After clicking “Next,” card captions can no longer be edited—so please double-check to make sure everything's just right!

Step 4: Use & Interact with your Cards

🎯 Bring your schedule to life!

  • View Your Schedule: Toggle between static and interactive modes.

  • Interactive Mode: Drag completed tasks to create a checklist of accomplishments.

The Nookly interactive schedule screen invites you to “Drag each card to the corresponding step when done.” On the left, three rounded-corner task cards feature child characters and captions—“Wake up and get dressed,” “Eat a healthy breakfast,” and “Brush your teeth.” Each card has an arrow pointing to a matching step placeholder on the right: the first slot is labeled “Step 1” and, once the card is dropped there, shows “Done ✅,” while the second and third slots remain empty and are colored pink (“Step 2”) and lavender (“Step 3”). This interactive mode makes it easy for children to toggle between viewing their visual schedule and dragging completed tasks into place to celebrate their accomplishments.

🔄 You can find your Visual Schedule in your Reading Nook whenever you need it!
