Practical example
Notary Marie-Claire Dubois receives a 150-page French liquidation deed and needs a Dutch version for a Flemish client. She uploads the PDF to Translation, selects French → Dutch, chooses "Notarial FR → NL" guideline (preserves legal terms like "notaris", "akte"), clicks Translate. Safe-mode activates immediately with message "Large document - reliable mode". Progress indicator appears: "Processing (87/150 chunks)". She continues working in other modules while translation runs in background. After 12 minutes, she receives notification "Translation complete". She reviews the side-by-side view, verifies key legal terminology is accurately preserved ("liquidateur" → "vereffenaar"), downloads the translated DOCX for client review. The entire process that would take 8 hours manually is complete in 12 minutes with 95% accuracy.

5. FAQ
Q: What languages are supported for translation?
A: Supported languages include English (US), English (UK), Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, and Russian. The module works best for French → Dutch → English translations in Belgian notarial context, with optimized legal terminology for these language pairs.
Q: How long does translation take for typical notarial documents?
A: Translation time varies by size: Small documents (5-10 pages): 10-30 seconds; Medium documents (20-50 pages): 2-5 minutes; Large documents (100-150 pages): 10-15 minutes. The system uses reliable client-side chunking for large documents, showing real-time progress. You can navigate away during processing and return when complete.
Q: Can I translate very large documents (200+ pages)?
A: Yes, once module comes out of beta, but processing time increases proportionally. A 200-page document takes approximately 20-25 minutes. The system splits large documents into chunks, processes sequentially with progress tracking, and allows you to continue working in other modules. For extremely large documents (500+ pages), consider splitting into logical sections (e.g., by chapter) for faster parallel processing.
