Step-by-step instructions

Add a new Template:

You can create custom templates. Click "New Template" in the Templates module, enter template details (name, category, description), add content with variables using {{variable_name}} syntax, add tags for organization, set sharing to Private or Workspace, and save.

You can subsequently open your template once it is "ready" in your Templates home page. It is worth opening the template in order to verify if all the variables and clauses have adequately been identified. You can edit the template by adding/removing variables and clauses, and editing the text directly within Nora.

Browse Templates:

  1. Navigate to Templates (/templates) from main navigation

  2. View template library organized by categories:

    • Notarial Deeds (liquidation, donation, mortgage)

    • Contracts (sale, lease, employment)

    • Clauses (tax optimization, liability, confidentiality)

    • Letters (client correspondence, official requests)

  3. Use search bar to find templates by name or content keywords

  4. Apply filters: Created by (author), Last modified date, Shared status

  5. Sort by name, date, or popularity

  6. Click template to preview full content

Access Clause Library:

  1. Click "Manage My Clauses" in Templates or Smart Drafting

  2. View all saved clauses organized by category

  3. Search for specific clauses by keyword

  4. Insert clauses into active drafting session using "Insert Clause" button

  5. Clauses available for reuse across all deeds

Notes and limitations

  • Category organization: Templates grouped by type (deeds, contracts, clauses, letters) for easy navigation

  • Variable system: Only {{variable_name}} format supported - no expressions, conditionals, or formulas

  • Workspace sharing: Templates can be private (personal) or shared (entire workspace)

  • Real-time updates: Changes to shared templates visible to all users immediately

  • No version control: Editing template overwrites previous version unless version history enabled

  • No template preview from list: Must open template to see full content

  • No export/import: Cannot export template library to share with other workspaces or external systems

  • Search limitations: Searches template name and content but not variable names or metadata

  • Integration dependency: Templates primarily used in Smart Drafting module

FAQ

Q: Can I create my own templates or only use pre-made ones?

A: Yes, you can create custom templates. Click "New Template" in the Templates module, enter template details (name, category, description), add content with variables using {{variable_name}} syntax and save.

Q: Can I share templates with colleagues or are they personal?

A: Templates are by default available to the full Workspace (all team members can access).

Q: What's the difference between templates and clauses?

A: Templates are complete document structures (e.g., full liquidation deed, lease agreement, donation deed) with multiple variables and sections - a starting point for entire documents. Clauses are reusable text snippets (e.g., tax optimization paragraph, liability limitation, GDPR notice) inserted into specific sections of documents. Think of templates as the skeleton and clauses as interchangeable parts. Most workflows: insert template for structure, then insert specific clauses for customization.
