6. For each file, optionally:
- Choose destination folder from dropdown
- Add tags for categorization
- Set permissions (private or share with workspace)
7. Click "Upload" button to begin
8. Progress indicator shows upload status
9. Status changes to "Ready" when processing complete
10. Documents appear in Library list and are immediately available in other modules

Practical example

Notary Antoine Lambert receives a liquidation deed from a client via email as a PDF attachment (3MB, "Liquidation_SA_Dupont_2024.pdf"). He opens Nora.Legal Library, drags the PDF file from his email client directly into the Library interface, selects destination folder "Clients/CLIENT - SA Dupont Industries/2024", adds tags "liquidation, company law, 2024", toggles "Share with Workspace" so colleagues can access it, and clicks Upload. The file uploads in 5 seconds, status changes to "Ready", and it's immediately searchable and available for anonymization. He can now process it through Anonymisation module or use it as reference in Smart Drafting without re-uploading.

FAQ

Q: What file formats are supported for upload?

A: Supported formats include PDF, DOCX (Microsoft Word modern format), DOC (legacy Word format - read-only), TXT (plain text), XLSX (Excel spreadsheets), and images (JPG, PNG, GIF). Note that DOC files upload successfully but cannot be edited within Nora.Legal - convert to DOCX first for full editing capabilities.

Q: What's the maximum file size I can upload?

A: The universal maximum file size is 50MB per document. If you have larger files (e.g., very large scanned deeds or multi-hundred-page mergers), compress them first or split into smaller logical sections. For assistance with large document handling, contact support@nora.legal.

Q: Can I upload multiple files at once or must I upload one by one?

A: You can upload multiple files simultaneously. Use Ctrl+click (Windows) or Cmd+click (Mac) to select multiple files in the file browser, or drag-and-drop many files at once into the Library interface. Each file processes independently, so some may finish before others depending on size.
