Click "Clear Filters" to reset and search entire Library
Practical example
Notary Caroline Janssen needs to search for liquidation procedures but only within her corporate law documents, not property or family law files. She opens Search, clicks Filters, selects folder "Corporate Law" from the dropdown, selects date range "Last year" to focus on recent documents, and checks document types "Deeds" and "Templates" (unchecks "Correspondence"). She applies filters and enters query "liquidation procedures Belgian SA". Search results now show only 30 documents from the Corporate Law folder matching liquidation topics, instead of 200+ results from the entire Library including irrelevant property liquidations. This precision search saves her 20 minutes of filtering results manually.
Notes and limitations
Library-only: Can only search Library documents - cannot search emails, CRM notes, or external sources
Folder hierarchy: Selecting a parent folder includes all subfolders automatically
Filter persistence: Filters reset when you navigate away from Search page (not saved across sessions)
No saved presets: Cannot save filter combinations for reuse (must reconfigure each time)
FAQ
Q: Can I search multiple folders at once if they're not nested together?
A: Yes. You can select multiple separate folders simultaneously.
Q: Can I save my data source filter preferences so I don't have to reconfigure every time?
A: Currently, filter preferences are not saved across sessions - they reset when you navigate away from Search or log out. You must reconfigure filters each time you use Search. This limitation may be addressed in future updates. For frequently-used filter combinations, consider organizing your Library folders strategically so the default search scope matches your common needs.
