Step-by-step instructions
1. Navigate to the Search module
Click on the Search icon in the left-hand navigation bar to open the Search module.
2. View past searches
Scroll down to the section labeled Latest searches. This displays a chronological list of your most recent queries.
Each entry includes the query text and a timestamp
If a result failed to generate (e.g. due to an error), a red “Error generating answer” message appears beneath the search term
Tip: Use the Archived searches tab if you’ve manually saved any searches for future reference.
3. Reopen a past result
Click on any past search entry to reload its results instantly—no need to re-enter the query.
4. Search within your search history
Use the small “Search question…” input field just above your recent searches to locate a specific past query quickly.
5. Manage past searches
You can:
Pin frequently used searches by clicking the heart icon (♥)
Delete individual entries using the trash icon (🗑)
Archive entries for long-term storage and easier access from the “Archived searches” tab
Practical example
Tom, a junior associate, frequently reviews AI use case questions from internal meetings. Rather than running the same queries each week, he uses the Latest searches panel to instantly revisit his prior queries like “search relevance in internal memos” and “AI suggestions for document classification.” When one of his queries failed due to a system error, he noticed the red error label and was able to rerun it successfully the next day after refreshing the system.
Notes and limitations
Session-based history: Past searches are preserved only during your session or until manually deleted or archived
No auto-saved filters: Filters applied during a previous search are not automatically reapplied when reopening the same query
Manual cleanup: Users must manually manage or delete search history entries—no automatic expiry
FAQ
Q: Can I save a past search result permanently?
A: Yes. Click the Archive icon next to the search entry to move it to the “Archived searches” tab for future access.
Q: Why does it say “Error generating answer” on one of my past searches?
A: This typically means the system couldn’t process the query at that time (e.g. due to a backend issue or malformed query). You can usually rerun the search successfully after a refresh.
Q: Are filters from my previous search remembered?
A: No. You must reapply filters when revisiting a search result. The system only logs the text of the query, not the filtering conditions.
