The quick start checklist guides new users through the essential setup steps to begin using Nora.Legal effectively, from initial signup through first document upload and workspace familiarization.



Step-by-step instructions


1.Receive invitation: Wait for invitation email from your workspace admin containing signup link with pre-filled invitation code
2. Complete signup: Click the link in email, verify your email is pre-filled, create a secure password (no email verification required)
3. Onboarding form: Fill in your real first name and last name when prompted
4. Workspace assignment: System automatically assigns you to your office's workspace
5. Welcome page: Review the Welcome page introducing main features
6. Set language preference: Navigate to Settings > Profile and select French, Dutch, or English as your preferred interface language
7. Configure notifications: Set agenda reminder preferences (5, 10, 15, 30, 60, or 120 minutes before events)
8. Upload first document: Go to Library and upload your first document to test the platform
9. Explore modules: Visit each module you have access to (Library, Anonymisation, Translation, etc.) to familiarize yourself
10. Connect calendar: Optionally connect Google Calendar or Microsoft Outlook in Agenda settings for two-way sync.



Notes and limitations


Setup time: Typical complete setup takes 5-10 minutes from receiving invitation to first productive use.

Invitation required: Cannot self-signup without invitation code.
No email verification: Immediate access after signup - security relies on invitation code validation.
Workspace context: All users assigned to workspace during signup - cannot change primary workspace later
Module access: Your available features depend on permissions assigned by workspace admin
Calendar sync optional: You can skip calendar connection and add it later in Settings
Information needed: Prepare your first name, last name, secure password, and optionally your calendar credentials.

Q: How long does setup take from invitation to use?

A: Complete setup typically takes 5-10 minutes: 2 minutes for signup, 2 minutes for onboarding form and language preferences, 3-5 minutes for uploading first documents and exploring the interface. You can be productive immediately after signup.

Q: What information do I need to prepare before starting?


A: You need: (1) the invitation email with your signup link, (2) a secure password you'll remember, (3) your real first and last name for the onboarding form, and optionally (4) your Google Calendar or Outlook credentials if you want to sync calendars immediately.

Q: Can I skip steps and come back later to complete setup?


A: Yes, most configuration is optional. Only the signup (email, password) and onboarding (first name, last name) are mandatory. You can skip language preferences, calendar sync, and first document upload, then return to Settings anytime to configure them. However, completing all steps upfront gives you the best experience.
