Version History

Review and restore previous drafts of your work, or manually save important milestones.

Updated over a week ago

"Write with confidence, knowing every change is saved."

Never worry about losing a great idea after a rewrite.

Novela automatically tracks your document’s history, allowing you to travel back in time to any previous version or bookmark key moments in your creative process.

  1. Click the [Document Settings] in the top-right corner → [More][Version History].

  2. Select a timestamp from the list on the right to preview what your document looked like at that moment.

  3. Restore or Mark Milestones:

    • Restore: Click [Restore this version] to bring a previous draft back to your main editor.

    • Add Version Manually: Click [Add new version] to give a specific moment a title (e.g., "End of Chapter 1" or "Before Major Rewrite") for easy tracking.

💡 Novela automatically saves versions as you write, but manual tagging is great for marking significant progress or plot pivots.
