Troubleshooting Guide: Google Calendar Not Syncing with Nowsta

If your Nowsta shifts are not appearing in your Google Calendar, follow the steps below to verify your setup and reset the connection if needed.

Why isn't my Google Calendar syncing?

The most common reasons are:

  • The wrong Google account is connected.

  • Calendar permissions were not fully granted.

  • The Google Calendar connection became disconnected or corrupted.

  • The sync has never been set up.

Step 1: Verify Google Calendar Sync is Enabled

If this is your first time setting up Google Calendar Sync:

  1. Open the Nowsta Worker App.

  2. Tap Profile.

  3. Select Google Calendar Sync.

  4. Tap Connect Google Calendar.

  5. Select the Google account you want to connect.

    1. Important: The Google account should use the same email address as your Nowsta account.

6. Tap Continue.

7. On the Google permissions screen, make sure to allow:

✅ View and edit events on all your calendars

8. Tap Continue.

Your Nowsta shifts should now begin syncing to your Google Calendar.

Step 2: Check You're Using the Correct Google Account

If your shifts are still missing:

  • Verify that the connected Google account is the correct one.

  • Make sure you're viewing the same calendar in the Google Calendar app.

  • If you have multiple Google accounts on your phone, ensure you're checking the correct account.

Step 3: Reset the Google Calendar Connection

If the sync previously worked but has stopped, resetting the connection usually resolves the issue.

Remove Nowsta's Google Calendar Access

  1. Open the Google Calendar app.

  2. Tap your profile picture (top-right).

  3. Select Manage your Google Account.

  4. Scroll down and tap Linked Apps.

  5. Locate Nowsta.

  6. Tap Delete All.

  7. Confirm the removal.

Verify that Nowsta no longer appears under your linked apps.

Step 4: Reconnect Google Calendar

After removing the connection:

  1. Open the Nowsta Worker App.

  2. Tap Profile.

  3. Select Google Calendar Sync.

  4. Tap Connect Google Calendar.

  5. Choose the correct Google account.

  6. Tap Continue.

  7. Grant permission to:

    ✅ View and edit events on all your calendars

  8. Tap Continue.

Your Google Calendar connection has now been refreshed.

How to Disconnect Google Calendar

If you no longer want Nowsta events to sync:

  1. Open the Nowsta Worker App.

  2. Tap Profile.

  3. Select Google Calendar Sync.

  4. Tap Disconnect Google Calendar.

You'll be asked to choose one of the following:

  • Keep existing Nowsta events in Google Calendar.

  • Remove all Nowsta events (past and upcoming) from Google Calendar.

Note: If you choose to remove all events and later reconnect Google Calendar, only newly confirmed shifts after reconnecting will sync. Previously removed events cannot be restored automatically.

Still Not Working?

If you've completed all of the steps above and your shifts still aren't syncing, please contact Nowsta Support and include:

  • Your Nowsta account email

  • The Google account email you connected

  • Whether this is a new setup or a previously working sync

  • A screenshot of the Google Calendar Sync page in the Nowsta app

  • The date and time of a shift that is missing from your Google Calendar

This information will help us investigate the issue more quickly.
