STEP 1: Install the Intercom Platform
You can install the Intercom Platform in minutes. We support iOS, Android, WordPress, Segment and Stripe.
STEP 2: Import your users
Once installed, you’ll want to add your users to Intercom. You can import your users directly from a CSV or from your MailChimp or Mixpanel account.
STEP 3: Customize Intercom to be about your users
You should send data to Intercom specific to your userbase. That way you can get insight that matters specifically to you, your product and your customers. There are two kinds you can send; custom user attributes, and events. Custom user attributes is data about who your users are, while events tell you when users take important actions in your product.
STEP 4: Get answers to your questions right away
With a default install of Intercom you’ll get a list of standard user attributes which you can filter on to answer specific questions you have about your users, like who they are, where they are, when they first signed up or last logged in and how many Twitter followers they have. This standard data, combined with the custom data and events (mentioned in step 3 above), mean that you can ask literally any question you like about your userbase and get answers in just a few clicks.
To get to know your users individually, just click into any user or company profile to see the tasks they've accomplished and ticked, when they last responded to a teammate and more.
To see how your teammates are performing, just click on their teammate profile. Here you'll see some useful stats, including the average rate they complete tasks and respond to comments.
