What are Segments?

Segments are a way to bundle some data sources belonging to the same group together.
It makes them easier to plug into a report - you just need to select the Segment, instead of picking each data source one by one.
You can also apply filters to the Segment itself, to filter out data across all data sources.
For example, if some of your accounts contain data for many markets and you'd like to create a segment with market-specific data, you can filter out the other markets directly in the segment.

Create & Edit a Segment

  1. From the Homepage, click the hamburger icon and then 'Segments'

  2. Click on 'New Segment'

  3. Fill in the details and choose the group your segment will be made available in.

  4.  After the group is selected, select the datasources you want to group together within the segment.

  5.  You can go further by adding filters to the datasources, which you can find in a dropdown box. This allows you to tailor the Segment to your specific needs. In reports using this segment, the Segment Filters will be applied first. The global filters will be applied on top of them.

  6. Click on 'Save'

  • You can edit your segments and delete them from the Segments page.

  • If you need the segment to be available in more than one group, you can duplicate it and assign it to another group.

  • Once a segment has been created, it is made available in the new & existing reports of the designated group, next to the data source selector.
