How do I share my stories?

Nugit offers a few different ways of sharing your stories with internal and external stakeholders.

Once you've created a story that's ready to be shared, you'll have a few different options: you can either use a link, send it directly via email, or download a Powerpoint version that can be sent across to the recipient.

I. Live View Link

A Live Link allows you to share your story quickly and easily with non-Nugit users. Once they click on the link, the story will open in a new window in their browser. They will be able to view the entire story and edit the date range / customise metrics if these permissions are enabled.

Share a story via Live-View Link:

  1. Go to your story in Edit Mode & click on the "Share" Button in the top menu bar.

  2. From the Live Link tab, activate the Live Link by toggling the "Live Link Enabled" button.

  3. You can also edit Permissions to control what the recipient can do. Remember to click save once you're happy!

II. Email (Direct & Scheduled)

You can share your story via direct email (as a one-off) or schedule it to be shared with the same list of recipients on a regular basis.

Share a Story via Direct Email:

  1. Go to your story in Edit Mode, click on the 'Share' button in the top menu bar.

  2. Select the "Email" Tab

  3. Add one or more recipients & edit the email subject if needed.

  4. Decide if you want to insert the PPTX version of the report as an attached file & if you want the email images to link to the live view version of it (read more about this below)

  5. Click on "Send" to send your story to the selected recipients, or send yourself a preview using "send me a preview" if you'd like to check the story's appearance first.

When you send a story via email, the recipient will receive the entire report in the email itself, and not just the link to the story.
Each nugit is captured as a screenshot, and is added a separate image. If the "include Live Link" option is enabled, images will be clickable, and all links will send the viewer to the story in live view mode.

Schedule the automated delivery of a story via Email

  1. Go to your story in Edit Mode, click on the 'Share' button in the top menu bar.

  2. Go the the Schedule tab

  3. Add the recipient(s) & edit the Email Subject if needed

  4. Select the frequency (daily/monthly/weekly) and when you want the story to be sent

  5. You can add the live view link & the PPTX file (as per the Direct Email instructions)

  6. Click on 'Schedule'

III. Download & Send the Story as a PowerPoint file

If you'd like to share a editable version of the report in a PPTX format, you can easily download it and share it (via Email, USB stick, Slack...)

Download a PPTX version of your report

  1. Go to your story in Edit Mode, click on the 'Download' button in the top menu bar.

  2. A Pop-up window appears - Click on 'Download'

  3. Your story will be then transformed into PPTX format and downloaded to your computer. You should find it in your Downloads folder.

The PPTX generation & downloading process can take a bit of time if the story contains a large amount of data or many nugits.

If it gets stuck at 99%, it often means that a nugit (or more) in your story is broken - edit it or delete it and try to download the file again.
