Duplicating stories is an easy way to create multiple versions of a specific story format. It is also considered one of the best practices when making multiple edits to a story. This allows you to edit the copied version, while keeping the original version intact.

When you don't need a story anymore for any reason, you can easily delete it.

Duplicate a Story (Tile View)

  1. From the home screen, click on the Group of the Story you want to duplicate, or search for it by name. If the Story was recently modified, you may see it on the home screen under 'Last Modified' or 'Stories created by you'.

  2. Hover over the Story you want to duplicate. Click the gear icon, then click 'Duplicate'.

  3. A new Story named "[Story Name] (copy)" is created in the same Group.

Duplicate a Story (Edit Mode)

  1. From the Story Edit Mode, look for the Duplicate icon in the top rightmost section of the page.

  2. Click on the 'Duplicate' button and wait for the page will load to your new duplicated story, named "[Story Name] (copy)"

  3. Edit the story as needed.

Delete a Story (Tile View)

  1. Hover over the Story you want to duplicate. Click the gear icon, then click 'Delete'.

  2. A confirmation message will pop up. Click 'Delete Story'.

Delete a Story (List View)

  1. Click on the trash bin icon in the rightmost column ('Actions'), then click 'Delete'.

  2. A confirmation message will pop up. Click 'Delete Story'.

TOP TIPS:

  • Rename duplicated stories, so you can keep track of different versions.

  • Setting work-in-progress duplicates as Drafts is best practice. Toggle the Story status from Live to Draft by clicking on the status under the Story title in edit mode. (To learn about story status, see What is a Story status and what do they do?
