CTC

Note that these instructions are for CTC "residential" lines. However, we have found that they work for many main street businesses, which have standard phone service. If you have more sophisticated PBX system, please see CTC's website.

Most commonly, businesses choose to have calls answered by Numa if the call is not answered or if the line is busy or not functioning.

Setup Instructions

First, we'll set up Call Forwarding If No Answer and then, starting on Step 4, we'll set up Call Forwarding If Busy.

  1. From your CTC phone, dial *92 and listen for 3 beeps and a steady dial tone.

  2. Enter the number of rings (2-9 rings) you would like before the call is transferred.

  3. Enter your Numa number. CTC may test the number by dialing it... When Numa answers, you can hang up.

  4. From your CTC phone, dial *90 and listen for 3 beeps and a steady dial tone.

  5. Enter your Numa number. CTC may test the number by dialing it... When Numa answers, you can hang up.

That's it!

How to Confirm It's Working

You can place a test call by going to Settings > Phone numbers > Test my setup or call your business's phone number from your personal phone. If nobody answers, you should hear your Numa Voicemail greeting.

Troubleshooting

Make sure you don't have an answering machine picking up your calls before they get forwarded.

If your business's phone line is part of a hunt group (multiple lines that ring until one is answered), you may need to set up forwarding on all the lines involved. Alternatively, you could remove your business phone line from the hunt group.

Contact your phone provider and have them double check that forwarding was set up properly and is active on your line.

Turn off Call Forwarding

  1. Call Forwarding No Answer: Press *93 then listen for a confirmation tone.

  2. Call Forwarding Busy: Press *91 then listen for a confirmation tone.

No matter what, don't hesitate to contact Numa support! We'll happily work with you and your service provider to get you all set up.
