Ways to set up your MNSi landline to work with Numa

  1. Using Star Codes (if you don't know your web login and are at your business phone)

Online at MNSi portal

As long as you have your MNSi account login this is very easy to do online. Just follow these steps:

  1. Click on the "Call Manager" tab across the top

  2. A little lower down, click on "Call Forwarding" and then, under that, "Busy/No Answer"

  3. Click make a check mark appear next to "Use same call forwarding configuration for both services." The "Forward Calls When Busy" section should grey out and will use the same settings as the "Forward Calls When No Answer" section.

  4. Turn on "Forward Calls When No Answer" and select "Other" in the "Forward calls to:" dropdown and enter the "Numa Number" assigned to your Business location. Note: enter a "1" in front of your Numa number when you add it (ex: 1-###-###-####)

  5. You will have the option to set the number of seconds before forwarding incoming calls. We recommend setting this to 12-15 seconds rings. Unanswered calls and calls that come in when your line is busy should now go to Numa.

You're done! Skip down to How to Confirm It's Working.

Using Star Codes from your MNSi Phone

  1. From your business phone, dial *92 then wait for the pulsed dial tone to finish then dial the ten digit call forwarding number assigned to you by Numa. Example: (*92 <wait for pulsed dial town> then 1-555-222-3333)

  2. Hang Up.

  3. From your business phone, dial *90 then wait for the pulsed dial tone to finish then dial the ten digit call forwarding number assigned to you by Numa. Example: (*90 <wait for pulsed dial town> then 1-555-222-3333)

  4. Wait for a confirmation that your calls will be forwarded when your line is busy

You're done! Skip down to How to Confirm It's Working.

How to Confirm It's Working

You can place a test call by going to Settings > Phone numbers > Test my setup or call your business's phone number from your personal phone. If nobody answers, you should hear your Numa Voicemail greeting.

To Disable Call Forwarding

To disable the call forwarding setup that you did here, either change the settings in your MNSi portal or, from your phone, dial *93 (wait, hang up) and then *91 (wait, hang up).

Troubleshooting

IMPORTANT:

You should either disable the voicemail feature on our MNSi account or at least delay the number of rings until the MNSi voicemail answers. You can do that within the portal under "Settings > Preferences." Set the number of seconds until voicemail picks up to 60.

Make sure you don't have an answering machine picking up your calls before they get forwarded.

If your business's phone line is part of a hunt group (multiple lines that ring until one is answered), you may need to set up forwarding on all the lines involved. Alternatively, you could remove your business phone line from the hunt group.

Contact your phone provider and have them double check that forwarding was set up properly and is active on your line.

Turn off Call Forwarding

  1. Call Forwarding No Answer: Press *93, then # and listen for confirmation message.

  2. Call Forwarding Busy: Press *91, then # and listen for confirmation message.

No matter what, don't hesitate to contact Numa support! We'll happily work with you and your service provider to get you all set up.
