You can transmit your Live Streaming in Nunchee with a m3u8 URL that is delivered by a RTMP (live streaming) provider. The provider will transcode the service by transforming the signal into HLS (m3u8).

It's important to mention that most Live Streamings are published through a protocol called RTMP.

This protocol allows you to stream to many different platforms so that you can reach a much bigger audience.

Find below 2 options on how you can stream LIVE in Nunchee:

1 - Sharable Youtube Live URL (that is public)

This option does not generate costs in Nunchee.

2 - MUX, Nunchee's live streaming partner.

Pay as you go model. Sign up for their services directly from the Nunchee Console.

They have a pay-as-you-go model. If you are looking to stream live a couple of times a month, this might be a good option.

This service costs USD $150 per month, plus what you consume in MUX. You will also need an OBS (Open Broadcast System), a free program that you can install onto your computer to operate and configure your Live Streamings. It is a broadcasting system to record and edit the streams.

MUX does not have a CMS for a user; thus Nunchee integrated MUX into the Console (Nunchee's CMS). From the Console, you can create the Live feed as a content and stream across the devices.

Check here >> https://mux.com/pricing/?view=live to see the estimated costs of your stream depending on duration, audience, and engagement.

To activate this service, you must add the app from the Console. ADD APPS >> MUX >> + ADD. Remember to click on INFO first.

Reload the page and a menu of Add-ons will appear bellow Add Apps.

Watch the video below to see how the app is added:

Now that you have MUX available, see below to learn how to set it up.

To stream LIVE, you need an OBS (Open Broadcaster Software). OBS is a free, open-source, cross-platform streaming and recording program. Built with Qt and maintained by the OBS Project. There are different versions of the OBS Studio available for Microsoft Windows, macOS, and Linux distributions. More information >> https://obsproject.com/

To start setting up your live streaming, click on "Sources" where you can set up cameras, images, and design how you want to show your live streaming. Just click on the plus (+) sign and then "Video Capture Device" to set up your camera and name it if you want.

Name your camera you will use (Camera from Mac or External Camera):

After that, choose the camera you have installed on your computer or phone (in this case the FaceTime HD Camera is from a MacBook). Resolution 1280x720 is just fine for the live.

Now, you will see the camera working, showing whatever you want.

Insert some photos to be available in case some of your users access the live streaming before you start it.

Click on "Scenes":

And insert the picture:

You can dimension it by scrolling on the red line around the pic.

Now that you have already set up cameras and scenes, let's bring this to your Nunchee platform.

First let's get the credentials you need to insert on OBS, from Nunchee's MUX addon:

You will have access to the key you need to insert on OBS:

With this information, go to OBS and click on "Settings":

And then go to " "Stream":

Copy and paste the "Server" and "Stream Key" information you got from Nunchee.

Having this ready, just click on OK and now let's "Start Streaming":

Go to Nunchee's Mux Addons and refresh your page until you see the streaming:

After this setup, you can create content in Nunchee where you can show your live streaming on your website. Go to Content Manager > LIVE > +Add new Live

On Videos, click on "Selec from Library" and your live will be there:

Select the Live Mux Stream option:

It's the same process of creating normal VOD content.
