The "Medication" tab allows you to create a list of your client's medication and the dosage required. It is visible to carers in their app.

Read how to set up your medication lists before filling in your clients' medication tabs here.

The Medication tab has an "Active" and "Past Medicine" list - any medications that have an end date will be moved to the "Past Medicine" list.

To add medications to your clients' profiles:

1. Select the Actions drop down list, and then 'Add medicine' option to add a new medication to the list.

2. You can then search your list of medications (see how to add these here) and select one

3. You can set start/end dates - if using eMAR, then the medication will not display as "active" unless the start date has been reached.

4. Enter any dosage instructions,

5.Select the repetition rule (daily, every other day, weekly or custom) and enter the number of doses required in the corresponding time of day/day field. Read how to change your time of day labels here.

Note 1: If you select Weekly please make sure you also select a time label so carers know when to administer the medication

Note 2: If you select Every other day check that the start date corresponds to the first day you need the carers administer the first dose

6. Add any additional instructions or mark as "PRN/As needed" if applicable

7. You can also upload any supporting documentation (for example, scans of leaflets) using the "Add file attachment button"

8. Click "Save" to add the medication

Important: In order to the carers be able to report medication using the mobile app, the task Medication Administration has to be added to the visit or visit recurrence in the client's calendar. Read more about eMAR here

Add File Attachments

If you need to add a file like a prescription, a photo of the medicine, the measurement spoon, syringe, etc click on the +ADD FILE ATTACHMENT bottom:

If you want to give your carers access to this file, select the option that can be found in the 3 dots at the end of the file name (if the medication already exists you will need to click 'Edit to make a correction' first from the Actions menu.

In the mobile app, they will find this file in the medicine information once they open it to make a report and click the link in blue

Add Body Maps

You can add body maps to the medicines to indicate your staff where exactly a topical medication should be applied.

For more information check this article: Body Maps for Medication

The whole medication list is viewable on the mobile app via the client's profile.
