If you have created feedback for a student on Nurture, you must click ‘Mark as Reviewed’ after you have created their feedback to save it. This feedback is not sent to the student just yet.
Once you have feedback created for all students and marked them all as reviewed, you must publish this feedback for them to be able to see it. You can publish feedback my clicking ‘Publish Feedback’ at the bottom of the assessment page (See screenshot below).
Why do I have to click ‘Mark as Reviewed’ for each student and then publish the feedback to all students after?
This gives you the opportunity to create all the feedback for each student first and if you are on a non-rubric based assessment (I.e marks or percentage based), you can create group feedback for any learning outcomes where students need further feedback on.
By grouping students by learning outcome, you have the opportunity to address any common mistakes in the learning outcome feedback without needing to address them on each individual student.
Here you can see on Learning Outcome 1 the majority of my students need feedback on it. By clicking ‘Give Feedback’, you can give more detailed feedback for this group of students where you must answer the following questions.
How did the students do and how was their process?
What are the next steps?
You can create feedback for any learning outcomes you want to (this is optional) and once you are satisfied with your feedback, click ‘Publish Feedback’, select a reflection type for your class group and the feedback should be sent to the student.
Note : On a rubric based assessment, you cannot give group feedback on learning outcomes, so once you have marked all students as reviewed, simply click ‘Publish Feedback’
