šŸŽ What’s new in Nurture

šŸ†• New Nurture Assistant Model

We have updated our Assistant to use the latest gpt-5 models. This is a ā€˜thinking’ model so you will notice that as it is generating a response, it may tell you what it is doing before generating its responses.

Response Quality : This new model means that suggestions across both task creation and feedback/grading are improved, in particular this it is much better and more reliable at understanding students handwriting.

Stability : This upgrade also makes our assistant more reliable and stable, meaning that it should no longer get stuck on the ā€˜Nurture Assistant is thinking’ message provided you are connected to the internet.

šŸ†• New Customise Feedback Options

We have added more options to our ā€˜Customise Feedback’ feature. You now have easy to use controls for customising the Nurture Assistants feedback & grading output for :

  • Student Reading Age - Reading age the language that feedback & grade suggestion will be in.

  • Feedback Length - Length of feedback comment

  • Feedback Language - This is the language the feedback will generate in.

  • Feedback Second Language - When turned on, the assistant will generate the feedback in more than one language for students.

  • Marking Scheme / Rubrics - Allows you to add or edit your marking scheme and rubric here without adding it to the task for students. Handy if you wish to keep this hidden from your students, but still need it for the Nurture Assistants context. When this is configured well, the score breakdown that the assistant suggests can be provided in greater detail for each student.

Please click the ā€˜Reset Chat’ button on students once you have edited or changed any of the custom feedback settings for them to take effect.

šŸ†• New score breakdown field

We now have a new ā€˜Score Breakdown’ text field where you can place the score breakdown for the student. If you approve of the Nurture Assistants suggested score breakdown, it will populate this field for you. Previously, the assistant would suggest a score breakdown but it would not place this breakdown anywhere as we only had one text field for the overall score for the student.

Like the score itself, we hide this breakdown from the student until after they have reflected on feedback.
