On Nurture, publishing feedback to students follows the same process (with a couple of exceptions depending on whether or not the grrading type of the assessment is rubrric based or not.)

Publishing feedback to students on an assessment with a Rubric

1. Review each students submission individually.

  • Ensure that each learning outcome has a criteria selected which gives the student their total grade.

  • You should also fill in the personal feedback for the student.

  • You can use the Nurture Assistant on the right side of your screen to help with both of these.

  • Once finished with the student, click 'Mark as Reviewed' and proceed onto the next student.

2. Once you have marked all the students you want to give feedback to as reviewed, close out of the 'Review' page to go back to the 'Submissions' page. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click 'Publish Feedback'.

πŸ’‘ Tip

You can see a breakdown of where each student you reviewed scored on the rubric on this submissions page.

3. Choose how you want your students to reflect on their feedback to unlock their grade and click 'Publish Feedback' You cannot change the reflection type once you publish so make sure you are happy with the reflection type.

πŸ’‘ Tip

If it is your students first time using Nurture, the emoji reflection is the easiest for them to use!

4. Your feedback has now been published to students!

Publishing feedback to students on an assessment without a Rubric

1. Review each students submission individually.

  • Ensure that you have selected any learning outcome the students need feedback on. You will be able to create feedback for each learning outcome once you have reviewed all students to save you time. (see step 2).

  • Enter the grade for the student.

  • Fill in the personal feedback for the student.

  • You can use the Nurture Assistant on the right side of your screen to help with each of these.

  • Once finished with the student, click 'Mark as Reviewed' and proceed onto the next student.

2. Create learning outcome feedback for students that need it.

  • Once you have marked all students as reviewed, close out of the 'Review' screen.

  • Scroll down to the learrning outcomes and click 'Give Feedback' on any learning outcome you want to give further feedback on.

  • You must give feedback on two questions :

    • How did the students do and who was their process?

    • What are the next steps?

  • You can use the Nurture Assistant to help you generate this feedback.

  • Once happy with the feedback for this learning outcome, click 'Create Feedback'

  • Close out of the 'Learning Outcome Feedback' screen and repeat with any other learning outcomes you wish to give feedback on.

πŸ’‘ Tip

You do not need to give feedback on each learning outcome, but it is helpful for students to know what they must do next to improve on that learning outcome.

The point of learning outcome feedback is it saves you needing to write the same feedback over an over again to each student individually. By grouping students by learning outcome they need feedback on, you can create the feedback once and it goes to the students who need it.

If a student does not need feedback on a particular learning outcome, Nurture tells them they do not need feedback on it.

3. Once you are happy with the feedback created for each learning outcome, scroll down to the bottom of the page and click 'Publish Feedback'.

4. Choose how you want your students to reflect on their feedback to unlock their grade and click 'Publish Feedback' You cannot change the reflection type once you publish so make sure you are happy with the reflection type.

5. Your feedback has now been published to students!
