What is Web Researcher?
Web Researcher is a Nuvo Intelligence feature that automatically searches the public web for information about a customer whenever their application is submitted. It helps you quickly understand who you’re doing business with, validate what they told you on their application, and assess risk more effectively.
Where do I find it?
You’ll find Web Researcher’s report in the Insights tab of any application. It’s generated automatically, so there’s nothing to turn on or configure.
When does it run?
Web Researcher runs automatically whenever a customer submits or resubmits an application with new data. It works in the background, so it never blocks submission or affects your customer’s experience. Results aren’t refreshed automatically after that. A new report is only generated the next time the application is resubmitted with new data.
How does it work?
Using Google, Web Researcher searches the public web for information about the business, including its website, address, key people, and recent news or mentions, then compares what it finds against the application. Anything it finds that wasn’t already on the application is marked with a “New” badge.
How do I understand the results?
The report is organized into three sections:
Summary: a quick overview of what’s known about the business.
Application Information: how the application’s details compare to what Web Researcher found online.
News & Mentions: news articles and other public references to the company.
Click "View Details" on any report to see the full research.
How can I confirm information or dig in deeper?
Every finding links back to its original source, so you can click through and verify it yourself.
