How do I write a good prompt in AI Studio?

References describe the look. Subjects define what appears. You describe what happens.

  1. Keep prompts short: let references and subjects do the work

  2. Say what you want (and not what you don’t)

    • Don’t → “No clutter, no distractions…”

    • Do “Clean, minimal layout”

  3. Always reference subjects by name: Use the exact subject name(s) in your prompt. If using multiple subjects, reference each one individually.

    • “[SubjectName1] next to [SubjectName2]”

    • “[SubjectName1] held in hand”

  4. Be precise with text: Tell Obello exactly what to say. Use quotation marks.

    • Headline “Summertime Happiness”

    • CTA “Buy Now”

  5. Use exact colors, when needed: Use HEX codes or saved color names from your Workspace.

    • “Background in #003366”

    • “CTA button in Obello yellow”

  6. Call out the details that matter most:

    • “Maintain identical facial features as the reference image”

  7. Match your prompt to the output:

    • Image → [SubjectName] on a clean kitchen table

    • Design → Social ad for [Subjectname]. Headline “Coming this Spring”, CTA “Learn more”

    • Video → Slow zoom in on [SubjectName], then pan left.
