How to Apply to Become an Investigator

The Investigator application process

Updated this week

Navigate to the sign-up page and create an account. The platform will guide you through the onboarding process.

You cannot accept case assignments until all mandatory onboarding tasks are complete.

Completing the Onboarding Tasks

1. Identity Verification

Complete a formal identity check through Veriff. You will be asked to present a government-issued ID and complete a live selfie check.

2. Oath Recording

Record a video of yourself reciting the Investigator Oath. The recording is AI-transcribed and matched against the official script β€” key phrases such as "solemnly swear," "will not fabricate," and "oath freely" are verified. The recording is stored permanently as part of your investigator record.

The Oath: "I solemnly swear to uphold the highest standards of integrity and truth as an Objection investigator. I swear to collect the most complete evidence possible. I pledge to report the evidence accurately and transparently. I will not fabricate, alter, or misrepresent evidence. I understand the responsibility that comes with my role. My findings will inform my society's shared source of truth. To the best of my knowledge, my credentials and representations are accurate. I take this oath freely."

3. Completing Calibration Cases

Your answer is compared to the established correct answer, and the AI provides feedback. Calibration performance determines which cases you are eligible to apply to.

4. Profile Completion

Fill out your investigator profile, including your bio, areas of expertise, years of experience, education, certifications, and, if relevant, your current employer. You must upload a CV.

5. Guidance Acknowledgment

Read and acknowledge the investigator guidance documentation, covering evidence standards, submission procedures, conduct expectations, and consequences of violations.

6. Case Application

Fill out why you're the best fit for a particular case.
