How does Objection work?

A step-by-step explanation of the adversarial review process.

Updated over a week ago

The Objection process works in four stages:

1. Objection Filed β€” An Objector identifies a specific public statement they believe is false or misleading and submits a structured challenge backed by evidence. A fee is paid to fund the investigation.

2. Investigation β€” Qualified Investigators are matched to the case. They gather and submit admissible evidence under the Empirical Journalism Standard (EJ-1). The Author (the person who made the claim) is notified and has the right to respond.

3. Adversarial Review β€” Both sides present evidence. It is tested, challenged, and weighed. Neither side can simply assert a conclusion, they must support it.

4. Determination β€” A ruling is issued by the AI Tribunal based on the evidence. It is preserved permanently as part of the public record. Both parties can appeal under defined conditions.
