The fee is a financial incentive posted by an Objector to fund the independent investigation of a challenged claim.
Fees serve three functions:
Signal seriousness β By committing real capital, Objectors demonstrate that their challenge is not frivolous. This helps filter out bad-faith objections.
Compensate Investigators β Investigators receive 70% of the bounty when their evidence materially supports the case determination. This ensures that only serious, high-quality work is rewarded.
Align proportional scrutiny β Higher-stakes claims attract larger fees and therefore higher-caliber investigators.
Fee amounts are suggested by the platform based on the claim's reach, reputational risk, and evidentiary complexity. Objectors can adjust within defined bands.
