Promo codes are an effective marketing lever to stimulate sales. With Obypay, you can set deadlines, usage restrictions and channels of use. The codes can be used by your customers logged into their loyalty account, when placing online orders.
Step 1 : Create a promo code
Field | Description |
Name | Internal name of the code — not visible to the customer (e.g.: SUMMER20) |
Code | The code the customer will enter (e.g.: SUMMER20) |
Reward type | Discount in euros or Discount (%) |
Discount | Amount or percentage of the discount |
Minimum amount | Minimum order amount to activate the code (optional) |
Usage limit | - = online and on-site / Online = Obypay interfaces only / On-site = at cash register only |
Limit per contact | Number of times the same customer can use the code (e.g.: 1 for single use) |
Total usage limit | Total number of uses of the code, across all customers (leave empty = unlimited) |
Expiry date | Expiration date of the code (leave empty = no limit) |
Restaurants | Select the establishments where the code is valid (required) |
4. Click on Add to confirm
5. Activate the code and share it with your customers via email, SMS, social media or flyer
Step 2 : Edit a promo code
Step 3 : Deactivate a promo code
From Promo codes, click on the relevant code
Deactivate the "Active code" toggle
The code turns grey — it can no longer be used by your customers but remains in your list.
Step 4 : Activate promo code entry on your interfaces
Make sure loyalty is activated and that orders with an Obypay account are activated on your point of sale :
From the orders back office, click on Settings → Point of sale
Check that the "Orders with Obypay account" button is activated in the sale type and in Consumer account
Step 5 : Test the promo code on the customer side
Go to your point of sale link
Add products to the cart
Log into a loyalty account (the customer must be logged in to use a promo code)
Enter the code in the "Enter promo code" field and confirm
