Octoparse offers a comprehensive solution for users seeking to efficiently retrieve data from web pages. Should you opt to utilize Octoparse, it is recommended that you exercise discretion, as the platform endeavors to safeguard your data to the best of its ability. The protection of data has consistently been of utmost importance to us.
Our server houses two types of information: personally identifiable information (PII) of users and extracted and stored data on the cloud. In terms of data safety, we will address three potential scenarios.
Will your user information be compromised by Octoparse?
We adhere to industry-standard protocols for managing user data. A restricted group of Octoparse personnel are granted access to user PII data through controlled mechanisms. Technical operations staff have access to the raw data storage service. All other employees are strictly prohibited from accessing user data. Octoparse gathers and retains additional PII through its marketing program. For comprehensive information, kindly consult our security and privacy policies.
Will the extracted data be utilized by others?
The extracted data is stored locally on the user's computer and will not be accessible to any other parties. Therefore, it poses no potential safety hazards.
In the case of data stored on the cloud, it is encrypted and can only be accessed with the user's login credentials. The user also has the option to export and clear the data at their discretion. It should be noted that Octoparse does not collect or utilize any data stored in user accounts.
Can Octoparse potentially scrape the personally identifiable information (PII) of others?
It is the responsibility of our users to ensure that they are utilizing Octoparse in accordance with the current laws. This entails refraining from scraping data from websites that prohibit such actions or utilizing personally identifiable information (PII) collected by Octoparse in an unlawful manner. Any such actions are solely at the individual's own risk.
Further information regarding PII can be found in the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) terms. In accordance with the GDPR, "personal data" refers to any information pertaining to an identified or identifiable natural person (referred to as a "data subject"). This includes, but is not limited to, the following: full name, home address, email address, social security number, passport number, driver's license number, credit card number, date of birth, telephone number, and login details.
