What documents do I need to complete KYC and AML checks?

In order to comply with UK Financial Conduct Authority regulations, Odin must confirm the identity of every investor.

To invest via Odin, you need to provide a government issued identification document (e.g. passport or drivers license).

Depending on the amount you are investing, we may ask you to provide documents substantiating the source of your capital in line with our anti-money-laundering obligations. These documents vary depending on your source of wealth. You may find some examples below.


​‍1. Employment

Examples of employment information are Wages or Salary.

Please provide both of the following documents:

  • Payslips (from the last 3 months

  • Bank statements (showing regular income from last three months)

2. Investment income

Examples of investment income are dividends from shares.

  • Letter statement with investment details from financial institution including amount received.

3. Rental income

  • Bank statements from the last 3 months showing rental payments credited to the account (reference to bank account on transactions is a must)

4. Sale of property

  • Signed sale & purchase agreement (showing revenue from a previous property sale is used for the property in question)

5. Sale of assets

  • Signed sale agreement

6. Retirement payments

Examples of retirement payments include super lump payments (e.g. Pensions)

  • Letter statement with investment details from financial institution including amount received.

7. Insurance payout

Examples of insurance payouts include insurance and compensation lump sum payments.

  • Letter/statement with details from insurance company describing the compensation and including amount received.

8. Inheritance

  • Signed Will or Grant of Probate

  • Letter from registered organisation confirming payout
