The Document Anonymization tool helps you quickly remove sensitive personal and financial information from documents. Prepare your files for sharing, publication, or archiving with confidence that sensitive data is protected.

Accessing the Tool

From the Jimini home page, navigate to the Document Anonymization tool in the left sidebar menu. Select or upload a document to begin the anonymization process.

Choosing What Information to Anonymize

The tool categorizes sensitive information into two main groups:

Personal Information

  • Email addresses - Remove contact information

  • Dates of birth - Protect identity

  • Driver's license numbers - Hide official IDs

  • Cookie IDs and tracking codes - Remove digital identifiers

  • Durations and specific dates - Maintain timeline privacy

Banking Information

  • Bank account numbers - Remove account identifiers

  • IBAN codes - Hide international account details

  • Credit card numbers - Protect payment methods

  • Security codes (CVV/CVC) - Remove card security details

  • Card expiry dates - Hide payment card information

Additional Instructions

You can provide custom instructions to anonymize information beyond the standard categories. For example:

  • Names of specific individuals or companies

  • Internal reference numbers or codes

  • Addresses or location information

  • Telephone numbers or fax numbers

Simply type your custom anonymization instructions and Jimini will apply them to your document.

Launching Anonymization

1. Select your anonymization categories - Check the boxes for information types you want to remove

2. Add custom instructions (if needed) - Specify any additional sensitive information

3. Click "Anonymize" - The tool processes your document

4. Download the result - Your anonymized document is ready. Review it to ensure all sensitive information has been removed.

Best Practices

  • Always review the anonymized document before sharing to ensure the result meets your requirements

  • For highly sensitive documents, use custom instructions to target specific information

  • Test on a non-critical document first to understand how anonymization affects formatting
