⚠ Important before you begin:
Jimini for Outlook is compatible with both Classic Outlook and the new Outlook.
If Office add-ins are managed by your organization's administrator, they will need to authorize Jimini for Outlook for you.
If you are unable to search for add-ins in Outlook or cannot find Jimini for Outlook, contact your organization's administrator or refer to the "Common Issues" section below.
Jimini for Outlook can be installed in three ways:
Directly from Outlook
From the Microsoft marketplace
Organization-wide installation
From a manifest file (specific cases)
1. Installation directly from Outlook
A. Outlook online or recent desktop version
Open Outlook then click the Add-ins icon (or "Apps" depending on your version).
Select Get Add-ins:
A window opens, search for Jimini in the search bar:
Click Jimini for Outlook, then click Add:
The installation is immediate.
B. Classic Outlook version
Open Outlook and click Get Add-ins:
A window opens, search for Jimini:
Click Jimini for Outlook, then click Add:
2. Installation from the Microsoft marketplace
Go to the official Jimini for Outlook page on the Microsoft marketplace here.
Click Get or Add
Sign in with your professional Microsoft account if needed
Confirm the installation
3. Organization-wide installation
This feature is only available for Office 365 licenses.
Go to your Microsoft admin center at admin.cloud.microsoft and in the left menu, click Show all
Then click Settings and then Integrated apps
Then click the Add-ins button. If this button does not appear, your license probably does not allow organization-wide plugin installation.
Then click Deploy Add-in
Then click Next
Then click Choose from the Store
Search for Jimini for Outlook and click Add
After accepting our terms of use, choose who you want to install the plugin for, then click Deploy
After a short moment, the plugin should be installed. You can now open Outlook to try it out.
The plugin should now appear in Outlook when clicking the "Add-ins" button.
4. Installation from a manifest file (specific cases)
In certain situations, particularly when using an on-premise Microsoft Exchange tenant, it is necessary to install the add-in from our application's manifest file.
The Microsoft documentation explaining how to install an add-in from a manifest on a Microsoft 365 environment can be found here.
When installing via a manifest file:
Maintenance is the responsibility of the user or IT administrator.
An outdated manifest can cause issues with new features.
We therefore recommend, whenever possible, installing via the Microsoft Marketplace, which allows for automatic updates.
Common issue
Microsoft blocks the use of add-ins in the Outlook application if your email address is not managed by Microsoft Exchange.
For example, you can access a Gmail address via Outlook, but the add-in installation buttons are disabled.
To check if your email address is compatible, follow these steps:
In the top left of your Outlook application, click File
Click "Account Settings"
Then "Account Settings" again
A window opens. Check the "Type" column to see if your email address is compatible
If the column contains anything other than "Microsoft Exchange" (for example POP3 or IMAP), then the "Jimini for Outlook" add-in cannot be installed on the Outlook application.
In this configuration and with the constraints imposed by Microsoft, the only option to use the "Jimini for Outlook" add-in is to use Outlook online.
