What are usage limits?
Your plan entitles you to a certain amount of work each week: that’s your usage limit. It works like a budget, which every request made to Jimini draws down, and which is fully replenished every Monday.
This budget isn’t counted in number of questions, because not all requests are equal: analyzing a 400-page matter represents much heavier work than asking a one-off question. The weight of a request depends on the length and complexity of the exchange, the volume of documents Jimini has to read to answer you, and the tools you use.
All your usage counts toward this same limit, whether you’re working in the application, in Word, or in Outlook.
These limits let us offer a subscription at a fixed price, with no usage-based billing, while guaranteeing the same speed and the same quality of answer to all our users.
What consumes the most
Consume more:
long documents, and requests covering a large number of exhibits at once;
conversations that grow longer, because every new question carries forward the history of the exchange;
tools that produce in-depth work: in-depth legal research, an analysis grid over many documents, summarizing a large matter, translating or anonymizing entire documents;
requests calling for very long answers, such as drafting a complete document.
Consume little:
one-off questions and short exchanges;
questions in “Immediate” response mode;
requests within conversations already under way;
rephrasing and text corrections.
Tracking your usage
Click your profile picture, then the Usage tab. There you can track your weekly usage limit, and the date it will reset. The gauge changes color as you approach your limit, then when you reach it.
When you’re approaching your limit
A banner warns you when you’re approaching your weekly usage limit, then when you reach it.
Once the limit is reached, new requests are paused until the reset. Your matters, your documents, and your conversations remain accessible: only new requests to the AI are suspended.
You then have three options:
wait for the reset, which happens overnight from Sunday to Monday (Paris time);
upgrade to a higher plan, with immediate effect on your limits;
write to support@jimini.ai if this limit seems abnormal given your usage.
Unused usage does not carry over from one week to the next.
Getting the most out of your plan
Target the relevant exhibits rather than querying an entire large matter when the answer is in two or three documents.
Open a new conversation when you switch topics: a conversation that grows longer consumes more with every message.
Phrase your request in one go, specifying the context and the expected result: a precise request avoids a series of back-and-forths.
Reserve in-depth research for genuine research work; a factual question about your exhibits costs much less.
Work within a matter: Jimini finds the right context there, which improves answers without multiplying requests.
