Quick Keys

Updated over a week ago

Keyboard shortcuts are keys or key combinations that allow you to perform operations faster and from the keyboard that you would normally do with the mouse or with other buttons in the menu. Below are the current keyboard shortcuts you can use in Giotto:

Copy and Paste (Control + c | Control + v)

Copy Cut and Paste with Keyboard Shortcuts - tecnomani.com

By using the combination of keys Control + c you can copy a text or an object.

Through the key combination Control +v you can paste a previously copied text or object.

Note: if you are a macOS user, the combinations always become replacing the key with Control->Command.

Therefore, in this case, the combinations become Command + c and Command + v

Cut (Control + x)

By using the key combination Control +x you can cut an object or text (and then paste it wherever desired).

Note: if you are a macOS user, the combinations always become replacing the key with Control->Command.

Therefore, in this case, the combination becomes Command + x.

Undo and Redo - Forward and Back (Control + Z | Control + Shift + Z)

Often while writing or performing any action (such as deleting an object or an image) one changes their mind and wants to go back. To do it, simply press the Control+Z key combination.

After going back, you've decided to restore the just undone action, just press Control + Shift + Z.

Note: if you are a macOS user, the combinations always become replacing the key with Control->Command.

Therefore, in this case, the combinations become Command + z and Command+Shift+Z.

Using Arrows on the Keyboard to Move Objects

By using the arrows on your keyboard, once an object such as text or an image is selected, you can move it within the workspace view. For example, by using the right arrow "→" you can move the object to the right. By holding down, you will move the object continuously.

Tip: hold down the SHIFT key simultaneously to move the object faster.

Delete button to remove an object

To remove/delete an object from the workspace, simply select it and press the delete key (which you usually use to remove letters or delete words while typing text).
