How to use the VIN Scan feature in Omnique from a mobile device.

We have added a VIN Scan feature to help you locate existing customers or to add new customers with their vehicle information from a mobile device. You can do this by using the camera icon next to the search field.

For an existing customer you click on the camera icon and that will open up your camera feature on the mobile device. Once you scan the VIN it should then locate the customer.

For a new customer, after you add the customer information, you would click on the Vehicles tab and then select add vehicle.

You would then want to click on the camera icon which will open up the camera feature on your mobile device. Take the picture and then select use photo. Once the VIN is auto filled from the photo, you will hit Enter and then Refresh Vehicle Details. This will decode the VIN giving you Year, Make, Model, Package/Trim, Engine, and Transmission. Select save on the bottom right.

Note: It may take some time for the customer to add to the software.
