How to use Zoom for a DIY Livestream

Please note that livestreaming with Zoom requires a paid account with a webinar add-on. OTS does not provide a Zoom license. We provide an RTMP Streaming Key and URL for OTS Centerstream that will connect your show to our online video player, Centerstream.

Webinars

  1. Sign in to the Zoom web portal.

  2. Click Webinars.

  3. Click Schedule a Webinar and enter the required information.

  4. Click Schedule to display a set of tabs with advanced options.

  5. Click the More tab, then click Configure Custom Streaming Service in the Live Streaming section.

  6. Follow the instructions located in the green box, which were provided by your administrator. Contact your administrator if the instructions do not include sufficient information, or enable Configure live stream during the meeting to enter the details live.

Enabling webinar livestreaming

Enabling Allow livestreaming of webinars allows you to livestream your Zoom Webinars on OTS Centerstream.

Prerequisites for enabling webinar livestreaming

  • Account owner or admin privileges

  • Pro, Business, or Enterprise account

  • Host is assigned a Zoom Webinars plan

How to enable Allow livestreaming of webinars

Account

To enable Allow livestreaming of webinars for all users in the account:

  1. Sign in to the Zoom web portal.

  2. In the navigation menu, click Account Management then Account Settings.

  3. Click the Meeting tab.

  4. Under In Meeting (Advanced), click the Allow livestreaming of webinars toggle to enable it.

  5. If a verification dialog appears, click Enable to verify the change.

  6. Select the check box next to each streaming service you want to allow users in your account to livestreaming webinars to.

  7. (Optional) If you want to make this setting mandatory for all users in your account, click the lock icon , and then click Lock to confirm the setting.

Group

To enable Allow livestreaming of webinars for a group of users:

  1. Sign in to the Zoom web portal.

  2. In the navigation menu, click User Management then Groups.

  3. Click the applicable group name from the list.

  4. Click the Meeting tab.

  5. Under In Meeting (Advanced), click the Allow livestreaming of webinars toggle to enable it.

  6. If a verification dialog appears, click Enable to verify the change.

  7. Select the check box next to each streaming service you want to allow users in the group to livestreaming webinars to.

  8. (Optional) If you want to make this setting mandatory for all users in the group, click the lock icon , and then click Lock to confirm the setting.

User

To enable Allow livestreaming of webinars for your own use:

  1. Sign in to the Zoom web portal.

  2. In the navigation menu, click Settings.

  3. Click the Meeting tab.

  4. Under In Meeting (Advanced), click the Allow livestreaming of webinars toggle to enable it.

  5. If a verification dialog appears, click Enable to verify the change.

  6. Select the check box next to each streaming service you want to livestream webinars to.
    Note: If the option is grayed out, it has been locked at either the group or account level. You need to contact your Zoom admin.
