If you've chosen to produce a DIY Livestream, here are the recommended settings. OTS provides you with an RTMP URL and Streaming Key which you add to your settings in whichever streaming software you've chosen. See the image below for the location of those credentials.

All livestreams are broadcast on Centerstream, an OTS specific platform. Streaming is not allowed on YouTube, Facebook, or any other video platforms while your show site is active with OTS.

If you wish to record your livestream, please check the settings in your third party software or visit their online help center for instructions.

🎭 Noteworthy: Please note that if you end up with an empty screen after adding your RTMP streaming key and URL from your OTS dashboard, it is likely your school/org has a firewall set up to prevent incoming/outgoing video streams. Please check with your IT or Technical Director for assistance with those settings.

Your RTMP URL and Streaming Key can be found in your OTS Dashboard. You do not need to do anything with the Mux ID.

These are the settings that SwitcherStudio uses:

For a High Quality:

Video Format/Resolution: 960 x 540

Video bitrate: 1200 kbps

Audio format: Stereo @ 44100 Hz

Audio bit rate: 128 kbps

For HD:

Video Format/Resolution: 1280 x 720

Video bitrate: 3200 kbps

Audio format: Stereo @ 44100 Hz

Audio bit rate: 128 kbps

For Full HD:

Video Format/Resolution: 1920 x 1080

Video bitrate: 6000 kbps

Audio format: Stereo @ 44100 Hz

Audio bit rate: 128 kbps

What we’ve heard from clients:

Changing video software to output 30fps instead of 29.97fps helps the video connection run smoothest.
