For On The Stage Livestreams - either live or pre-recorded:

  • Familiarize yourself with the On The Stage platform.

  • Make your website live for ticket sales no later than 4 weeks prior to your first performance.

    • This allows ample time for you to market your production and for patrons to purchase tickets.

  • Download the Switcher Studio App on an Apple device that runs iOS13 or newer.

    • CS staff will give you login credentials two weeks prior to opening night; use those two weeks to rehearse in the app.

    • If your production is more than two weeks out, sign up for a 14-day free trial with Switcher.

    • Watch the Switcher Studio overview video demo: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MlobdIgwxj0

  • Set up your equipment for the performance—iPhones, iPads, microphones, etc.

    • All you need to start using Switcher is an iOS device, a Switcher Studio account, and a data or Wi-Fi connection.

    • If you want to have a more robust production, connect additional iOS devices to capture more angles.

    • For further information about Switcher Studio, read through their Support Center articles

  • Test internet speed.

    • To stream a production, you should have at least 3 megabits/second (mbps) speed. If you do not have a strong WiFi connection, purchase an ethernet cable.

    • Make sure your connection is not blocked by a firewall.

  • Test your livestream.

    • Familiarize yourself with the Livestream studio page, under the Productions tab on your On The Stage dashboard.

    • This is where you can turn on and practice with the live chat feature (if this is something you intend to use during your performance).

  • Reach out to our Support Team before opening night if you have any questions:

For any performance DON'T:

  • Set up your production site through On The Stage and begin selling tickets for your production less than 3 weeks prior to opening night.

    • This does not give you ample time for the marketing of your production or for patrons to purchase tickets

    • You also need to familiarize yourself with the On The Stage platform and not rush through setting up the website

  • Ignore Support Center articles that familiarize you with the On The Stage platform.

  • Bypass testing your internet speed ahead of opening night.

  • Bypass testing the streaming of your production on CenterStream.
